Well it looks like dad will be staying in the hospital for at least a couple more days...or so. He started sounding more congested, more coughing last evening and today they started him on antibiotic for an "infection" in his lungs...not calling it pneumonia...yet. They stopped the IV steroids and now giving it by mouth...O2 still at around 4-5 liters, the goal is down to 2-3 liters. His blood is still too thin...and his kidneys aren't working correctly. His blood sugar is down to 199 from 394! (normal is under 100) So the doctors are working on all this. Dad didn't look like he felt good today...I told him he looked like he has a cold...his eyes were "puffy".
ANOTHER UPDATE ADDED...on his blood sugar...Marcia said they tested it while she was there and it's back up to 368! So they gave him more insulin. Also the more congestion in his lungs is because they took him off the lasix due to the kidney problems! So now it seems they will need to find a "balance" in it all!
I took him 3 of the yellow, smiley face balloons the other day and he said they look like Wal-Mart! :-) I said I didn't get them there...got them at dollar tree! But I said ask the doctor is he was going to "Roll Back" his prices like Wal-Mart! :-)
Marcia made it in from TN today and will be staying with mom...they can take care of each other! :-) She tried to come yesterday but had a steroid shot on Friday and they make her sick.
