WOW! Mom and Dad have their very own blog!!! Dad mentioned something about a web page so I made them their very own blog!!! They will be updating and posting to it soon! I will be going over to show them how to add pictures and video and all kinds of fun stuff!
But for now just let me (Julie) update you! Mom's cornea repair went well Thursday! The doctor said it had not healed or come loose between the "6 and 8 o'clock" area of the cornea. He put in 4 or 5 stitches...which required the exact same surgery as the initial cornea transplant! Not too fun!
So on the way home I stopped at Cracker Barrel and got them dinner to go...Mom hadn't been able to eat/drink all day.
Well this evening my cell phone rings about 6:15...I told Jamie that's probably your dad calling...she looked at my phone and said, no it's 636-7111! I looked at her and said give it to me...I know that number by heart! Audubon Hospital! I said hello, and yes, it was Mom...she said what are you doing, I said, What are you doing! Well dad had fallen around noon, yes I said noon! He waited that long or should I say it took mom that long to convince him to just get checked out. He wouldn't go until Max was back home. They had taken him to the Vet to have another tumor removed and wouldn't go until he picked him up...but then who can come dog sit! Steve came and dog sat so they went to get checked out.
After cleaning the cut on his elbow, he went for X-rays...after waiting "not so patiently "... :-) with a neck brace on that he called "torture"...the results were good news! Nothing broken, just bumped and bruised and that he would hurt worse tomorrow...well that part wasn't good news.
He fell at Wal-Mart getting his scooter out...something didn't go right and it started coming off the lift a foot or so still off the ground and it knocked into him causing him to loose his balance and falling on his hip and elbow that jolted his neck...Mom said there were 2 workers in the parking lot getting carts and she yelled for them to come help them. She said they were so very nice, got the scooter back upright, and then got dad up and in it.
Dad then insisted that they go and do their grocery shopping! Can you say STUBBORN! HEHEHE!!! Mom got some peroxide and cleaned up the cut on his arm. I think the more the day went on the more pain he was in so mom being the NURSE finally convinced him to go just to be sure nothing was broken.
So it's been an eventful couple of days...when I got to the ER I told him if he wanted me to bring him Cracker Barrel again for dinner he could have just asked!!! He didn't have to be at a hospital for me to bring them dinner!
Thanks for visting! Mom and Dad will update soon!
p.s. they both better be resting! Both of them had very high BP yesterday and today! (and all too often...)
